Secrets of Subharmonics and Overtones REVEALED! Vocal Analysis of Bass Singer: Geoff Castellucci
In this video, I react to bass legend Geoff Castellucci (x4) performing his Low Bass Singer cover of "Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold" from The Hobbit. I analyse his earth shattering performance, explain and demonstrate his vocal techniques and ultimately tell you what I think made it so great. I simply cannot get enough of this VoicePlay superhero. It was SO much fun analysing his voice with VoceVista for even deeper voicey nerdery.

That harmonized guitar? What you don't know is Tom Scholz played both of those on seperate tracks and put them together in his basement studio. He also recorded and assembled the bass guitar, and the drum tracks. When he got done he needed Brad Delp for vocals to produce the finished product. This was their debut album, the only record in history to carry satisfaction guaranteed money back guarantee.

It's funny, because the 3 Geoff's are dressed as Thorin Oakenshield, his nephew Fili, and the cheery Bofur. Hehe, I think it's great that Geoff decided to dress up as them, to be honest. Bofur's one of my favorite dwarf's in the movie 😆. Great analysis Lollie!! Thank you for creating and sharing this video with the rest of us.

Brad supposedly killed himself because of his brother and his brother's girlfriend, who were freeloading off of him, and the brother's girlfriend claimed Brad was peeping at her naked, so he killed himself. I find that farfetched. I'm more likely to believe that Brad's demigodhood qualified him for the underground cities, where the people who are deemed better than us go, to live in the created elitist utopia, living at a higher standard without having to be bothered by the Mundanes. Elvis, Michael, Prince, Bowie and etc are there.

Yep... I've worshipped these guys for pretty much the last 38 years! I'm 50 now, and have seen and heard so much of their stuff, but this one hit different. There was such an anticipation knowing that this was coming out. We were told this woyld be the last new thing we ever hear from them fron Ringo and Paul themselves. You think "Yeah yeah... last thing... now let's hear it! We heard Free As A Bird, and Real Love... and I couldn't wait to get another one of those songs with the other Beatles worked into it. But then, instead of just listening to this new reease, I watched the video to get the whole experience. They sure as heck didn't disappoint!!! At the beginning, you're curious, and in awe. You want more. You see things you haven't seen before, then you see them playing together! It's alot of heavy stuff in the first minute. Then something profound happens (at least to me). It happens right around the part where the strings cut in (where 1967 Paul mimics playing a violin). You realize this is it. Even though they ceased to exist as a band over half a century ago, you begin to realize "this is it"! You soon start to see the clock going back to black and white. Tge music speeds up, like it does when you're getting close to the end of a rare visit from an old friend. That feeling that you don't want to say goodbye, but you have to. You try to hold onto time, but it now seems like it's slipping away faster and faster. Then, as fast as it started... it's over, and you're faced with that heartbreaking feeling of having to say goodbye to that old friend... forever. After the screen fades to black, your left staring at the screen, thinking about this last list, and now you have to say goodbye to this old friend...... forever.

Great singer. Fun fact: The transitional, super high note run at the end into the higher note was 2 takes spliced together. If you solo Delp's vocal tracks you'll hear the tiny cut where they meld the ending of another take to the beginning of this one. Of course, nobody will be able to hear that with the rest of the music going. And to top it off, what you might think is the super high vocal harmony to those super high notes is actually the lead guitar playing that high harmony. It's not a vocal. But yeah, Brad Delp had a superb voice.
